Arlington Highlands is about to get its own parade of passing nigiri. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar has a "Coming Soon" flag planted at 4000 Arlington Highlands Blvd., with tenant fit-out work expected to start later this summer and wrap by the end of the year, according to public filings and local reporting. The chain would bring a tech-forward, fast-casual sushi option to a retail stretch that has already seen more than a few restaurant turnovers.
According to Kura's site, the Arlington address is officially tagged as "Coming Soon," and the company is already nudging would-be diners to sign up for opening updates. Corporate pages spotlight the brand's ventilated "Mr. Fresh" plate lid, a double-belt conveyor system, and a stated "no-additives" preparation policy, all standard-issue features at Kura's other U.S. locations.
As reported by WhatNow, tenant filings reviewed by local outlets indicate that interior work is projected to begin later this summer and conclude by year-end. WhatNow noted that those details came from public documents and that Kura representatives had not responded to requests for comment by press time.
Where Kura Fits In DFW
Kura has been quietly building out its North Texas footprint, with existing locations in Plano, Carrollton, Frisco, Euless, Fort Worth, and McKinney, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. That same coverage notes that state licensing records show roughly a $1.5 million investment planned for the Arlington Highlands location.
What To Expect
When Kura does open, expect the familiar setup: color-coded plates gliding by on covered conveyor belts, touchscreen ordering at the table, and the Bikkura-Pon prize game that spits out rewards for returned plates. The chain has also deployed drink-delivery robots and an express belt that shoots made-to-order dishes straight to your table, per Kura's site.
Where It Will Sit
Local coverage indicates the new Kura will take over part of the former BoomerJack's Grill & Bar footprint at Arlington Highlands, a space that closed at the end of 2024. CultureMap Fort Worth reported a spokesperson saying, "Construction is just underway and they'll open in early fall."
Timing And What Comes Next
An official grand-opening date has not been announced yet. For now, the company's "Coming Soon" listing and tenant filings are the clearest clues on timing. WhatNow said it reached out to Kura for comment and had not received a response by press time, and the company typically posts opening announcements and reservation details on its locations page as launch dates approach.
