Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives say a recent sweep in the Long Branch area uncovered a small arsenal: 30 firearms and a stash of illegal drugs found in two homes. The May 20 search warrants turned up 26 rifles, four handguns, and narcotics including methamphetamine, Xanax, and marijuana, according to authorities.
The raid and arrests
According to Action News Jax, detectives with the Community Problem Response Unit had been looking into the two Long Branch properties after drug complaints in the area. With backup from SWAT, they executed search warrants on May 20.
Four men were taken into custody: 28-year-old Justice Johnson, 29-year-old Jaquan Wims, 47-year-old Leamon Jackson, and 65-year-old Marcus Spencer. The sheriff’s office described Johnson, Wims, and Jackson as tied to gang activity, while Spencer was also arrested at the scene.

The Long Branch raid is the latest in a string of multi-location takedowns by the sheriff’s office. In February, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office detailed a Grand Park operation that pulled in SWAT and federal partners to dismantle a drug network, seizing drugs, firearms, and more than $350,000 in cash.
Historical sweeps have also exposed large weapon stockpiles. A 2018 gang crackdown netted roughly 30 guns, highlighting how concentrated caches can surface during long-running investigations, per News4Jax.
