Visitors and nearby residents were told to leave the area so first responders could work without interference. Authorities did not immediately share what triggered the response.

According to KABB/FOX San Antonio, the Boerne Police Department took to Facebook at about 6:55 p.m. Sunday to alert the public. In the post, officers wrote, “Boerne Police Department and our public safety partners are actively working on an incident at the lake,” adding, “The lake is currently being evacuated to allow first responders to safely conduct their operations.”
Police did not specify how long the lake would remain closed or what exactly they were responding to, only that people needed to clear out so crews could do their jobs.

Boerne City Lake is a well-known Hill Country hangout for swimming and boating and, unfortunately, it is no stranger to emergency crews. In late May, an 80-year-old man drowned at the lake and responders temporarily shut down the park, as reported by KSAT.
