FDNY Safety Push And Tight Neighborhood Streets
The FDNY has been stressing home fire prevention in recent years through its #GetAlarmedNYC smoke alarm installation campaign. The department says working detectors and quick 911 calls sharply cut the risk of death in home fires, and the citywide effort has already put tens of thousands of alarms into residences across the five boroughs. Country Club is a largely residential corner of the East Bronx near Pelham Bay Park, marked by tree-lined streets and single-family homes that can make it tricky for large fire apparatus to navigate narrow blocks, according to local real estate listings and neighborhood guides. Neighbors told reporters that the heavy response temporarily shut down the block while crews ventilated the house and checked for any spread of the fire to nearby homes. Compass
Fire officials said the cause of the blaze remained under investigation and that units stayed on scene to clear lingering smoke and inspect the structure, according to News 12 The Bronx. Authorities had not released any additional information about the incident or updated conditions for the injured firefighters at the time of reporting.
