Part of North Linwood Avenue in Crafton turned into a stay-inside zone on Saturday as police shut down the street for an active investigation and told nearby residents to remain indoors. Officers blocked off the area while they worked the scene, and neighbors were urged to steer clear until the all clear was given. Overnight, officials released only limited details and did not disclose what triggered the police response.
Police Urge Neighbors to Steer Clear
According to WTAE, the Crafton Borough Police Department posted on Facebook that there was an active "police situation" on North Linwood Avenue and asked people to "please shelter in place and avoid walking into area where there is Police presence for your safety." The post noted that officers were already on scene and said more information would be shared once the situation was resolved.
