A 34-year-old Daytona Beach man already serving time in federal prison is now accused of exposing himself to a 15-year-old boy in the men's locker room at a Planet Fitness in Palm Coast, and Flagler County detectives have moved to pile on state charges.

Detectives say the incident happened on Feb. 25 at the Planet Fitness on State Road 100, where surveillance video allegedly shows the man walking into the men's locker room, pulling back a shower curtain and exposing himself to the teen. The boy reported the encounter to staff, later picked the man out of a photo lineup and deputies obtained a warrant for lewd or lascivious exhibition involving an offender 18 or older and a victim younger than 16.

During the encounter, the teen reportedly yelled "no" and the man answered, "I thought you said I join you," according to FOX 35 Orlando.

Federal Sentence In Separate Identity-Theft Case

Federal prosecutors say the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Craig Stevens Jr., is already in custody on an unrelated elder-fraud case. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida, Stevens pleaded guilty on Oct. 23, 2025, to conspiracy and aggravated identity theft tied to an identity-theft scheme that targeted an elderly victim. He was sentenced on March 5, 2026, to four years and six months in federal prison.

Prosecutors say Stevens had been working as a personal care assistant when he shared an elderly victim's personal information with co-defendants, using that data to get into bank accounts and apply for credit in the victim's name. The court also ordered the forfeiture of about $19,762.38, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

State Warrant Still Active

Flagler County deputies say they secured a county warrant after the teen reported the alleged locker room exposure and identified Stevens in a photo lineup. Investigators told local media that Stevens used a family member's Planet Fitness membership to get into the gym before entering the shower stall, according to FOX 35 Orlando. Deputies say the investigation remains active.
