A Modesto man died today after his car rolled off Briggsmore Avenue in the pre-dawn hours. Emergency crews pulled the lone occupant from the wreck and began life-saving measures, but the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Modesto police said officers responded just before 5 AM to the area near Oakdale Road and Briggsmore Avenue and found a vehicle that had apparently gone off the roadway, struck several boulders and collided with multiple boats before coming to rest, according to CBS Sacramento. The crash involved only the driver, who police identified as a Modesto resident. Authorities have not released his name. Exactly what led to the rollover remains under investigation, police said.
