Deputies with the Hernando County Sheriffs Office shut down westbound Cortez Boulevard at Deltona Boulevard while emergency crews responded and investigators worked the scene.
According to Tampa Bay 28, the Hernando County Sheriffs Office reported that the crash involved a vehicle striking a pedestrian and that the Florida Highway Patrol was on scene handling the investigation. The station noted that no additional details were immediately available and advised drivers to seek alternate routes until the roadway reopened.
