Three people are dead and several others remain hospitalized after a violent two-vehicle collision yesterday at W. Wheatland Road and S. Cedar Ridge Drive in Duncanville, a busy intersection flanked by shops and steady traffic.
Responding officers found a white Chrysler 300 and a gray Toyota Corolla with heavy damage from the impact. Two adult women were pronounced dead at the scene, and a juvenile later died at a local hospital. According to officials, two male juveniles were transported to area hospitals, and one juvenile remains in critical but stable condition. Parts of the roadway were shut down for hours while investigators documented the scene and crews cleared the wreckage.
In a post, the Duncanville Police Department said four people were inside the Toyota Corolla. The Chrysler 300 had only the driver inside, who sustained major injuries. Police added that the names of those killed are being withheld until family members can be notified. The department noted that the crash remains under investigation and asked anyone who saw the collision to contact Officer Luna at 972-707-3854 or the Criminal Investigations Division at 972-780-5037.
Public dispatch logs captured by CrimeRadar's NewsBreak feed show multiple emergency units rushing to the area near the CVS on S. Cedar Ridge Drive while lanes were closed for first responders and investigators. That audio transcript backs up reports of a heavy response at the scene, according to CrimeRadar.
Investigation ongoing
Traffic investigators with the Duncanville Police Department are working to piece together how the crash unfolded and what factors may have contributed to it. Officials have emphasized that no determinations about fault or potential criminal charges have been made, and the case remains active, according to the Duncanville Police Department.
