One person was killed yesterday in east Charlotte after a shooting that turned a stretch of Hickory Grove Road into an active crime scene. The gunfire broke out in the 5800 block of Hickory Grove Road, where officers blocked off the area while investigators worked the scene.
Queen City News reports that MEDIC crews responded to the 5800 block and pronounced one person dead at the scene. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said the investigation is active, and as of Sunday they had not released any information about a possible suspect or a motive.
Recent Shootings in East Charlotte
The killing comes on the heels of another shooting in east Charlotte on May 15, when an early-morning incident left one person dead and another seriously hurt, according to WSOC. Other violent incidents in recent weeks have kept police and community groups on alert.
