A man was shot in the head and died Friday night in Philadelphia’s Mantua neighborhood, according to police. The gunfire broke out on the 800 block of North Palm Street near Parrish Street as officers and medics responded, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators had not released the victim’s identity or any information about a suspect when the first reports came in.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, Philadelphia Police Inspector D. F. Pace said the man was killed after being shot in the head and that detectives had the scene sealed off with red tape. SkyForce10 video over the block showed a heavy police presence, and NBC10 reported there was still no word on what led to the shooting or whether anyone else had been hurt.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously online through the department’s submit-a-tip form, and detectives say the investigation is ongoing.
