
A man was killed in a shooting early Tuesday in Southeast Baltimore, after police found him wounded on Leverton Street and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later. Homicide detectives are now working the case.
According to WCBM, officers were called to the 3400 block of Leverton Street at about 12:14 a.m. Responding officers found an unidentified man suffering from gunshot wounds, and medics took him to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died shortly afterward. The department’s homicide unit is leading the investigation.

Leverton Street Has Seen Other Shootings
The 3400 block of Leverton Street and nearby blocks have been the site of several shootings in recent years, including a fatal case reported in 2021. Coverage from WJZ/CBS Baltimore has previously highlighted recurring gun violence in parts of Southeast Baltimore.
Investigation Status
Police have not yet released the victim’s name and have not provided any description of possible suspects, according to WCBM. Detectives are asking neighbors and anyone who might have security or doorbell camera footage from around the time of the shooting to contact the Southeast District Homicide Unit.
