A quiet stretch of Somers Street turned into a crime scene early Saturday when a man was shot in the head and later died in the hospital, police said. Officers responding to a 911 call found the victim on the sidewalk in front of 17 Somers Street in the Ocean Hill pocket of Bedford-Stuyvesant. Emergency crews rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released his name as the investigation continues.
