A routine trip to Rockville Town Center turned tragic Monday when a woman driving near the Whole Foods shopping center struck a parking garage and later died, according to authorities.
The crash happened June 22, 2026, in the Woodglen Drive area. First responders found the driver inside the garage, began CPR and attempted other life-saving measures, but she did not survive. A passenger who was also at the scene declined further medical treatment.
According to DC News Now, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews were dispatched to the Woodglen Drive corridor and located the vehicle inside the parking structure. The outlet reports that medics worked on the driver at the scene before she was pronounced, and that the Montgomery County Department of Police took over the investigation. Officials have not yet released the driver’s name or identified a cause of the crash.
