
A weekend morning turned tragic at a Northwest Miami intersection when a woman was struck and killed in a hit-and-run at Northwest 17th Avenue and 44th Street. Police say she was crossing the street when a vehicle hit her, then sped off without stopping. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives with the Miami Police Department are now working to piece together what happened and who was behind the wheel. According to WSVN, investigators do not yet have a description of the suspect vehicle and are urging anyone who saw the crash or has information to step forward.
