A quiet stretch of Ethan Way in Sacramento County’s Arden-Arcade neighborhood turned into a homicide scene on Saturday after deputies found a 51-year-old man dead inside a home with two apparent stab wounds. First responders tried to save him, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspected attacker took off before deputies arrived, and investigators quickly taped off the property while crime-scene teams moved in to process evidence.
Deputies Respond After 911 Call
According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, a 911 call reporting a stabbing sent deputies to the home in the 1900 block of Ethan Way. When they went inside, they found the man suffering from two apparent stab wounds, the agency told KCRA. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, he died at the scene. Detectives and crime-scene investigators stayed on site, collecting evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.
Earlier Fatal Stabbing This Month
The deadly attack comes on the heels of another fatal stabbing reported earlier this month in North Sacramento, where police made an arrest, according to The Sacramento Bee. In that case, authorities also turned to the public for help and asked for tips. Both investigations remain active as detectives sort through evidence and track down leads.
What Officials Are Asking
Sheriff’s detectives are urging anyone with information about Saturday’s stabbing to contact the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office, the agency told KCRA. By Saturday afternoon, no arrests had been announced. Investigators said they were still processing the scene and interviewing neighbors, and officials had not yet released the victim’s name as of Saturday evening.
