The collision happened around 1:45 p.m. east of U.S. 441 and involved an SUV and a pickup truck traveling in opposite directions. The pickup's driver, a 46-year-old man from Ocklawaha, suffered minor injuries, according to the preliminary account.

Troopers told WESH that a Florida Highway Patrol crash report shows the westbound pickup crossed into the eastbound lane and hit the SUV head-on. The woman driving the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, and the pickup's driver was treated for minor injuries, according to troopers. State troopers say the crash remains under investigation.
