
A 59-year-old Georgia man was found dead Friday after his vehicle veered off Highway 75 in Washington County, slammed into a ditch and then a fence near West 3800 Drive, according to state troopers. Responding crews arrived on the rural stretch of highway and pronounced the driver dead at the scene. Authorities said no other vehicles were involved in the crash.
According to FOX23, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the driver as George Wright of Georgia. Troopers reported that his vehicle left the right side of the road before hitting a ditch and a fence, and reiterated that there were no signs of any other vehicle being part of the wreck.
Troopers Suspect Medical Issue Behind Crash
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol told FOX23 that they believe Wright suffered a medical incident that led to the crash. The exact nature of that suspected medical issue has not been released, and investigators have not yet shared additional details about his condition before the collision.
Authorities Seek Information as Probe Continues
Washington County deputies and state troopers are continuing to investigate the fatal crash to determine its precise cause and complete the official report. Authorities are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle before it left the roadway, or who has dashcam video from the area of Highway 75 and West 3800 Drive around the time of the wreck, to contact the Oklahoma Highway Patrol or Washington County officials.
