
Gunfire broke out Tuesday evening near the Aero Apartments in South Tacoma, leaving one person injured and prompting an intensive search as daylight faded. The victim was treated for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, while the suspected shooter remained on the loose.
Tacoma police received a call about the shooting at 5:21 p.m. at the intersection of 96th Street South and South Ash Street, where officers found the wounded person, according to The News Tribune. Police spokesperson Shelbie Boyd told the paper that K-9 teams were deployed and officers worked to contain the area as they searched for the suspect.
