Gunfire Rocks Meadowview As Two Shot On South Sacramento Street

Gunshots rang out in South Sacramento on Tuesday night, leaving two people wounded and sending officers rushing into the Meadowview neighborhood, police said.

Responding to reports of a shooting, officers arrived in the area and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds in the Meadowview corridor. Both victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment, and investigators say the case is still wide open as they work to piece together what happened.

According to FOX40, Sacramento police were dispatched to the 7700 block of 24th Street in the Meadowview neighborhood, where they located two victims with gunshot injuries. The outlet reports both were transported to local hospitals, and authorities have not released their conditions or identified any suspects.

Where it happened

The 24th Street and Meadowview Road stretch has seen more than its share of serious incidents in recent months. Coverage of an April stabbing near 24th and Meadowview that sparked a manhunt described a large police perimeter in the same general area.
