Leon Valley police say a long-cold murder case may finally be breaking open. Nearly four years after 17-year-old Erick Torres was gunned down on a Leon Valley roadway, officers arrested a suspect at gunpoint, a development that follows years of Crime Stoppers pleas and steady local coverage.
According to WOAI, Leon Valley Police, with help from the San Antonio Police Department, took the suspect into custody at gunpoint. Authorities have not released the suspect's name or any additional details about the arrest, the outlet reported.
How Police Say the Shooting Unfolded
The homicide took place around 11 p.m. on April 19, 2021, along Huebner Road near Bandera Road. Police say a medium-to-dark SUV pulled up next to a red Ford Taurus and someone inside opened fire, hitting Torres and another person in the car. Torres later died at a hospital while the second victim survived, as reported by KSAT.
