A late-night drive on Little Coffee Road in the Town of Watertown ended in tragedy Saturday when a single-vehicle crash left one passenger dead and two others injured. Deputies and emergency crews were sent to the scene after an iPhone crash notification automatically alerted authorities, and they arrived to find the car partially submerged in a creek. Two occupants were transported by ambulance to nearby hospitals, while a third was flown out by med flight. One passenger was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Crash details
According to FOX6 News Milwaukee, deputies were called to the area around 7 p.m. after the iPhone crash alert flagged a possible wreck on Little Coffee Road. When they arrived, they found two people outside the vehicle and a third still trapped inside. Two of the injured were taken by ambulance, and one was airlifted by med flight. FOX6 reports that a passenger from the vehicle was later pronounced dead at Aurora Summit Hospital.
What investigators are piecing together
Investigators say the vehicle had been traveling northbound before the driver failed to negotiate a curve. The car left the roadway, hit a ditch and ultimately came to rest in a creek. WMTV reports that the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is leading the case and is still working to determine what caused the driver to lose control.

The passenger who later died was taken to Aurora Medical Center Summit for treatment. Aurora Medical Center Summit lists its address as 36500 Aurora Drive in Summit and serves as a regional hub that receives med-flight patients.
Investigation continues
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing to investigate the crash and has not released the names of those involved or said whether criminal charges will be pursued.
