California Highway Patrol officers were called at 11:34 p.m. Friday to 15832 Maplegrove St., near Alieron Avenue, after a report of a crash involving a black Jeep and a gray sedan. A CHP officer told City News Service that emergency personnel found the driver unconscious in one of the vehicles and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision temporarily shut down both eastbound and westbound lanes of Maplegrove Street while investigators worked the scene, according to MyNewsLA.
