
A LaGrange man died after he was found unresponsive inside his home in the early hours of Monday, June 15, and rushed to a local hospital, police said. Officers were called to the 100 block of South Page Street around 12:55 a.m., started life-saving efforts at the scene, and had the man transported. By midafternoon, detectives said they had a suspect in custody at the Troup County Jail.
Police: Early-Morning Call To South Page Street
According to police, officers were responding to reports of a shooting when they arrived at the South Page Street residence and found the victim, later identified as Corey Earl, unresponsive inside the home, FOX 5 Atlanta reported. Crews from the LaGrange Fire Department and Troup AMR continued life-saving measures before Earl was taken to the hospital, according to the police release.
Suspect Charged And Jailed
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division identified Quamarion Johnson as the suspected shooter, and authorities arrested him and booked him into the Troup County Jail, according to WTVM. Johnson faces multiple felony charges, including murder, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and unlawful possession of a machine gun.
What Police Are Asking
Investigators are asking anyone who may have information about the case to contact Detective Everhart at 706-883-2620 or to send anonymous tips through the Tip411 mobile app, the department's online portal, or by texting LAGRANGE to 847411, according to FOX 5 Atlanta. Police have not released any information about a possible motive or how the weapon was obtained, and the investigation remains active.
