A Saturday night in a North Philadelphia park ended in deadly violence when a 45-year-old man was shot and killed near the baseball fields along the 3700 block of 2nd Street, police said.
Officers responded to a radio call around 10:04 p.m. and arrived to find the man in the park with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:41 p.m. Detectives say the case is now in the hands of homicide investigators, and the probe remains active.
