A late-night apartment fire in South Baltimore left one person dead and triggered an origin-and-cause investigation after flames broke out shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday in the 2300 block of Round Road. Firefighters arrived to find an active fire inside an apartment and worked to bring the blaze under control.
According to WMAR-2 News, crews eventually knocked down the fire, and one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not released the victim's identity, and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
