
A late-night stop for tacos on San Antonio’s West Side turned violent just before 2 a.m. Monday, when an adult man was shot several times outside a taco truck, according to police. Officers say the man had been walking from a nearby bar toward the food truck when someone approached him and opened fire, hitting him in the torso.
Emergency crews rushed the victim to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, and he remains in critical condition.
Police Say Gunman Ditched Pickup After Fleeing Scene
The shooting unfolded in the 400 block of Historic Old Highway 90 near Southwest 34th Street, Fox San Antonio reports. Investigators say the shooter ran down the street, jumped into a pickup truck and drove off.
Officers later tracked that truck to a residence off San Augustine Avenue. Police surrounded the home as they worked to figure out whether the suspected gunman was inside.
San Antonio Taco Trucks No Stranger To Violence
Late-night taco spots in San Antonio have seen trouble before. In April 2023, a woman was shot and killed outside a South Side taco truck, according to MySA. Cops Still Digging For Leads, Call For Tips
