According to the Marshall News Messenger, Marshall police patrol officers discovered four gunshot victims in the Whataburger parking lot after the 1:50 a.m. call to dispatch. Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and two others were taken to medical facilities for treatment.
The outlet reports that one victim, a 20-year-old man, was pronounced dead at Good Shepherd Medical Center-Marshall at 4:14 a.m. Both deceased victims were transported to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for autopsy.
Arrest and Charges
The Greenville Chronicle reports that Marshall detectives, working with the Joint Harrison County Violent Crime and Narcotics Task Force, arrested 19-year-old Davion McDale Brown of Dallas in connection with the shooting.
Investigators have charged Brown with capital murder. Authorities have not released a possible motive or a detailed timeline of the confrontation that turned the late-night stop into a crime scene, and officials stressed that the case is still active, with details subject to change as evidence is processed.
