A 19-year-old Metairie resident is facing more than 30 child abuse counts after investigators say an online tip led them straight to his front door on Tabony Street. Enin Gomez Ramos was arrested June 26 after state agents executed a search warrant tied to an Orleans Metro ICAC Task Force investigation that began with a CyberTipline referral from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
State Investigators Detail The Case
According to the Louisiana Attorney General's Office, Gomez Ramos was booked on three counts of possession of child sexual abuse material and 30 additional counts involving victims under 13. The case began when a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children flagged an online account where the material was allegedly stored, prompting agents to obtain and execute a search warrant at his Tabony Street home.
The attorney general's office says Gomez Ramos admitted he owned the online account tied to the alleged material. Investigators added that the case is still active and that more charges are possible as they continue to sift through evidence.
Booking Records And Local Details
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office inmate database lists "GOMEZ RAMOS, ENIN" with a June 26 arrest and multiple entries under Louisiana statute RS 14:81.1 related to child sexual abuse material, according to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office. The booking log shows several RS 14:81.1E(5)(a) counts, including specific bond amounts for the under-13 allegations, which tracks with the charging details released by the state. Local records so far do not list a court date.
Immigration Detainer And Task Force Partners
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed an immigration detainer on Gomez Ramos and, in the attorney general's release, identified him as an illegal alien from Honduras with no lawful status. The release credits the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations and several local police departments as partners in the operation, and notes that ICE New Orleans also took another person into custody at the scene.
"This predator should have never been in Louisiana or our country to begin with. Great work by my Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents, all of our local law enforcement partners on the Orleans Metro ICAC Task Force, and Homeland Security Investigations," Attorney General Liz Murrill said in the statement.
Charges, Law And Next Steps
Prosecutors charged Gomez Ramos under Louisiana's child sexual abuse materials statute, RS 14:81.1. The law criminalizes the production, possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material and outlines how evidence must be handled and reported.
The statute also requires that seized files be provided to the attorney general’s Internet Crimes Against Children unit for specialized review, a step officials say will occur as forensic work continues. Authorities report that the investigation remains active and that detectives are still reviewing devices and online records, leaving the door open for additional counts.
How To Report Suspected Exploitation
Officials are urging anyone with information about this case or other suspected exploitation to contact local law enforcement or file a report with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children CyberTipline, which routes tips to Internet Crimes Against Children task forces nationwide. The Orleans Metro ICAC Task Force and the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation say they will keep working leads as the case moves toward potential prosecution.
