A man was shot and killed Thursday morning at Maslow Park in southeast Las Vegas after an argument, turning a normally quiet neighborhood park into an active homicide scene as families and early-morning regulars looked on.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, officers were called just before 8:40 a.m. to Maslow Park near East Harmon Avenue and South Nellis Boulevard. The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. Lt. Robert Price told the outlet that officers detained a couple of people who shared details about the suspected shooter and emphasized there was "no threat to the public" as detectives continued their work.

Detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Section processed the scene and interviewed witnesses as part of an active investigation. The killing comes on the heels of another deadly dispute in the area this week. On June 2, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department announced an arrest after an argument on the 4800 block of East Flamingo Road ended in a fatal shooting, the department said in a press release. Investigators have been stressing how quickly arguments can spiral and are again urging anyone with information to come forward.
