Ann Arbor police pulled a body from a retention pond on the city’s north side this morning after getting reports from the area. Officers and other crews worked along South Knightsbridge Circle for several hours as the investigation unfolded. Police said they did not yet have information to share about the person’s identity or age and that more details would come later.
According to CBS News Detroit, officers were called to the stretch of South Knightsbridge Circle just south of U.S. 23 and stayed on scene throughout Friday. The Ann Arbor Police Department told reporters it plans to release additional information at a later time and has so far withheld the person’s name and age.
Local history with retention ponds
Retention ponds and small water bodies in the area have been the sites of past recoveries. In 2013, a 19-year-old was found dead in a retention pond at an Ann Arbor–area apartment complex, AnnArbor.com reported. Earlier this year, after an extensive search, Ann Arbor police and University of Michigan public-safety crews located the body of a missing 19-year-old, according to ClickOnDetroit.
