A 39-year-old man was found dead inside an apartment on the 800 block of 21st Street NW on Monday, prompting a police investigation. He was later identified as Quinton Evans.
Apparent Sharp-Force Injury
Officers responding to the building discovered Evans inside the unit. He was not conscious and not breathing when they arrived, and DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead at the scene. According to DC News Now, the Metropolitan Police Department reported that Evans had an apparent sharp-force injury, and detectives are now working to piece together what happened.
Investigation Underway
MPD’s Homicide Branch has taken over the case and is processing the apartment and the surrounding area for evidence. Investigators have not released any information about possible suspects or a motive as the work continues, and authorities say residents may notice an increased police presence while detectives remain on scene.
