An adult was killed yesterday in a north Columbus shooting after driving to a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds, according to police. Officers were sent to the 1400 block of Worthington Centre Drive for a reported shooting, but when they arrived, there was no victim at the scene. Investigators later learned the injured person had taken themselves to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead at 5:11 p.m. Authorities have not released the victim's name while they work to notify family, and the department's homicide unit is handling the investigation.
Officers have not announced any arrests in connection with the case, and the circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, according to NBC4. The station reports that police found evidence at the Worthington Centre Drive scene even though the victim was gone by the time officers arrived.
