A quiet Friday late morning turned grim at a north Houston apartment complex when a 61-year-old woman was found dead at the property, prompting a homicide investigation by city police.
Investigation Details
According to a media release from the Houston Police Department, officers and Houston Fire Department paramedics responded to a person-down call at about 11:55 a.m. at 577 West Rittenhouse Street. The woman, identified as Elizabeth Amaro, 61, was pronounced dead at the scene.
HPD said Homicide Division Detectives W. Huff and J. Nguyen are leading the investigation. The cause and manner of Amaro's death remain unknown until an autopsy is completed. Anyone with information is asked to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
