U.S. Marshals are turning up the pressure in North Philadelphia as they search for a man investigators say is linked to a deadly shooting from October 2024. The agency has circulated a fresh bulletin with the suspect's description, along with a cash reward, and is urging anyone who knows where he is to pick up the phone.
According to NBC10 Philadelphia, the fugitive is 36-year-old Tyreek Dekeyser. Marshals describe him as about 5 feet 8 inches tall and roughly 145 pounds, and say he has been on the run since the Oct. 12, 2024 shooting in North Philadelphia.
Local coverage at the time reported that the gunfire broke out on the 2500 block of North Jessup Street, where emergency crews found a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. He later died at the hospital. FOX29 Philadelphia reported on the killing, and public case listings identify the victim as Jameel Devlin. Philly Unsolved Murders currently lists Devlin among its unsolved 2024 homicide cases.
Authorities' bulletin
Philly's Most Wanted, a law enforcement fugitives listing, includes Dekeyser and warns that "Fugitives should always be considered armed and dangerous." The posting features photographs along with identifying details tied to the Oct. 12 investigation.
Why this block
The 2500 block of North Jessup Street has seen more than its share of gunfire. In October 2024 alone, it was the site of multiple shootings, including an Oct. 19 mass shooting that wounded several people and underscored ongoing safety concerns in this stretch of North Philadelphia. 6ABC and other outlets reported on that cluster of incidents.
The U.S. Marshals Service is asking anyone with information about Dekeyser's whereabouts to call its tipline at 1-866-865-TIPS, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police also accept anonymous tips at 215-686-TIPS, as noted by FOX29 Philadelphia. Authorities stress that residents should not approach the suspect and should instead contact law enforcement immediately.
