
Overnight gunfire rattled a northwest Milwaukee neighborhood early Friday when a 24-year-old was wounded near 29th and Carmen around 1:30 a.m., according to Milwaukee police. The victim’s injuries are described as non-life-threatening, and they were taken to a hospital for treatment. Detectives have opened an investigation and are searching for unknown suspect(s).
According to FOX6 Milwaukee, the Milwaukee Police Department has not released any information about a suspect or possible motive. Investigators are asking anyone with information or video to come forward.

This latest shooting adds to a grim string of incidents along the Carmen Avenue corridor this spring. Police investigated a fatal shooting near 98th and Carmen in April, according to Urban Milwaukee.
In late May, another deadly shooting near 94th and Carmen led to a pursuit and crash that ended in an arrest, as reported by CBS58.
