
Overnight gunfire left a man hospitalized Monday in the Dutchtown neighborhood of south St. Louis, after police say he was found wounded inside a four-family flat near Chippewa Street and Gustine Avenue.
Police Investigating Overnight Shooting
According to FOX 2, a St. Louis police lieutenant said officers were called to the 3800 block of Chippewa Street, where they found the man inside the multi-unit building with a single gunshot wound. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. As of Monday morning, investigators had not released any suspect description or possible motive and said they were processing the scene and following up on leads.
Per the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, residents who may have information or surveillance footage related to the shooting can contact the department’s non-emergency line or submit anonymous tips to CrimeStoppers. The department also directs neighbors to district community outreach officers for ongoing local safety concerns.
South Side Shooting Trend
The Dutchtown area has seen multiple shootings in recent weeks, adding to concerns on the south side. Earlier local reporting highlighted a May 23 incident near Grand and Marceline that left two men wounded, when gunfire erupted near Grand Boulevard in the neighborhood.
