Downtown Pinckney is about to get a serious caffeine boost. Hazy Shores Coffee Co., a new independent café run by village resident Kelly Carling and partner Nora Findlay, is set to open next Thursday at 153 E. Main Street. The shop will serve specialty espresso drinks alongside breakfast sandwiches, house-baked pastries, and a small lineup of grab-and-go items.

According to Livingston Daily, Hazy Shores is owned by Carling and Findlay, with Brandon Carling and Adam Findlay helping operate the business. Carling, a high school counselor in Stockbridge, brings more than a decade of specialty coffee experience to the new spot, which should reassure anyone worried their morning latte might be a gamble.

Where It Will Be

Hazy Shores is moving into the storefront that formerly housed Earth's Energy Coffee & Tea at 153 E. Main St., with the address listed on the new shop's website. Earth's Energy had been known in that space for its mushroom coffee and community events, and the former tenants say they plan to maintain a presence downtown even as Hazy Shores takes over the location.

Menu And Hours

The menu is set to lean into craft coffee and in-house bites. The owners say customers can expect specialty coffee drinks alongside bagel breakfast sandwiches, croissants, muffins, cookies, chai, and house-made syrups. For espresso purists, they plan to pour cappuccinos with a smaller milk-to-espresso ratio and lighter foam.

Hazy Shores will also serve a mushroom coffee made by Tara Handley and will source its beans from a small-batch roaster in Jacksonville, Florida, per the owners. The plan is to open with hours Tuesday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the pair told Livingston Daily they hope to be open for downtown events as well.

The owners say they want Hazy Shores to become a neighborhood morning stop for commuters and visitors heading to village events, bringing a craft-focused coffee option to Main Street. Once the doors open next Thursday, downtown Pinckney will have another independently run spot for coffee and quick breakfast fare.
