Allegheny County police on Monday released surveillance video that investigators say shows two people opening fire on the front porch of a Wilkinsburg home in November 2022, killing a 40-year-old man. The case has remained unsolved since the shooting, and detectives say they are banking on the newly public clip to shake loose fresh tips from neighbors and anyone who recognizes the men.
The footage, made public June 1, shows two men walking along the 500 block of Holmes Street who stop at the porch and open fire, according to WTAE. Allegheny County police said the video was released to help identify two people possibly connected to the homicide.

Victim Walter Sloan, 40, was shot several times on the front porch and pronounced dead at the scene on Nov. 21, 2022, authorities said. Police reported that at least 18 rounds were fired and that a woman and several children were inside the house when the shots rang out, according to WPXI.

Detectives asked anyone who saw the incident or has video from the area to contact the County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS or submit information online, according to the Allegheny County Police. Tips can be submitted anonymously, and investigators said even small details could be valuable in moving the case forward.
