
A man was found shot to death early Thursday on a typically quiet residential block in Pico Rivera, authorities said, turning a pre-dawn call into a homicide investigation.
Deputies from the Pico Rivera Sheriff’s Station responded at about 5:16 a.m. to the 9500 block of Aldrich Street, where they discovered the wounded man and pronounced him dead at the scene, according to KTLA. No information about a possible suspect or motive was immediately available.

Officials have not yet released the victim’s name, saying detectives are still processing the scene and notifying relatives.

The slaying lands amid heightened concern about gun violence in Pico Rivera after other deadly incidents in recent months, including an August gas-station killing for which the county approved a tip reward.
