What the Charge Means
Rape in the second degree is a felony in Maryland. Under state law, a person convicted of second-degree rape can face up to 20 years in prison in many cases, and the statute allows for harsher penalties in certain circumstances, according to the Maryland General Assembly. A conviction for a sexual offense can also bring sex offender registration and other long-term consequences.

Anyone who believes they have information on Morales’s whereabouts is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (301) 780-8500, email [email protected], or contact Prince George's County Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
