A north St. Louis home went up in flames early Friday for the second time in just a few days, leaving the structure badly damaged but, once again, with no reported injuries. Fire crews were called out in the early-morning hours, and firefighters say this later blaze caused more severe damage than the first. Both fires were reported in the 4500 block of Bircher Boulevard.
Fire Department's On-Scene Report
On June 10, the St. Louis Fire Department posted on X that crews arrived to find "multiple fires throughout" the dwelling during the first incident, with Engine Company 26 first due and Battalion 6 in command, according to the St. Louis Fire Dept. The department noted that searches of the home were negative and that investigators were requested to look into the cause.
Bomb and Arson Investigators Called In
As reported by First Alert 4, the second call came in at about 1:30 a.m. for a house in the 4500 block of Bircher Boulevard, and officials again said there were no injuries. The outlet reports that the home sustained more damage in the later blaze and that the city's bomb-and-arson unit has been asked to assist with the investigation.
