A man in his 30s was shot in the chest and killed early Saturday on the 1900 block of Durfor Street in South Philadelphia, according to police. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found the victim at the scene.
Police said officers arrived around 1:35 a.m. and rushed the man to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Investigators recovered one spent shell casing at the scene but reported that no weapon had been found and no arrests had been made. The investigation remains active, according to 6abc Philadelphia.
