
A late-morning argument in an Orange City shopping plaza turned violent Friday when a 46-year-old man was shot in the parking lot outside the Ollie's Bargain Outlet at Market Place Plaza, according to police.
Officers were called around 10:40 a.m. and found the man with a gunshot wound to his lower back. He was taken to a local hospital, where his injuries were described as not believed to be life-threatening. Investigators said the preliminary information shows the victim and the suspects did not know each other and that a verbal dispute in the lot escalated into gunfire.
According to WKMG / ClickOrlando, police said the male passenger of a vehicle fired at the victim. The suspected shooter was described as a Hispanic man and the driver as a white woman, and the pair took off in a four-door black Mazda. Detectives are still working the case and canvassing the plaza for witnesses and any available video.
