Los Angeles police are urging Sun Valley residents to study a newly released photo of a 35-year-old man arrested in connection with a series of alleged sexual assaults, saying there may be more victims who have not yet spoken to detectives.
Foothill Division detectives said Agustin Vidana was taken into custody after an alleged attack near San Fernando Road and Sheldon Street in Sun Valley. Investigators are now reviewing multiple reports and working to determine whether other cases in the area are connected.
What police released
In a press release from the LAPD, Foothill Sexual Assault detectives said Vidana “appears unhoused” but has claimed residency in the Sun Valley area. According to the release, he is known to approach women walking in the neighborhood with what detectives described as the intent of pursuing a romantic relationship.
Detectives said they are investigating reports from multiple women, and that a Los Angeles deputy district attorney has filed felony charges in the case. Police released Vidana’s photo in the hope that additional possible victims or witnesses will recognize him and contact investigators.

The LAPD release confirmed that felony charges have been filed but did not specify the counts, which are typically detailed by the district attorney after investigators submit their case.
Jail records reviewed by MyNewsLA indicate Vidana remained in custody at the Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic on a $1.375 million booking hold. That hold stems from an unrelated May 28 arrest on suspicion of kidnapping. Prosecutors and defense attorneys had not publicly commented as of the time of reporting.
