A late-night home invasion on San Antonio's Far North Side has led to the arrest of 19-year-old Michael Jarome Randolph Jr., after deputies say a trio of masked intruders pistol-whipped a man and made off with a Ford F-150 Raptor and a haul of stolen gear.
According to investigators, three masked suspects forced their way into a home's garage in the early-morning hours of May 7 and held three men at gunpoint. Deputies say the group took rifles, video-game consoles and other property, and one of the victims was struck in the face with a handgun during the robbery.
Arrest and investigation
Bexar County deputies executed a search warrant at a home off Fern Lake Drive, where they took Randolph into custody on an aggravated robbery charge, as reported by WOAI. Investigators say Randolph was one of three masked suspects who forced their way into a home around 1:30 a.m. May 7, off Canyon Golf Road near Wilderness Oak, and held three men at gunpoint while taking rifles, video-game consoles and other property.
The stolen Ford F-150 Raptor was later found off Royal Breeze. Deputies say data from the truck helped them track the suspects' movements, a high-tech twist that, combined with pawn-shop records and surveillance footage, steered the case toward a South Side pawn shop. There, investigators say, a stolen thermal optic was sold. Pawn surveillance allegedly shows several teenagers pulling up in a Toyota Camry and taking part in the sale.
Legal stakes
Randolph has been booked on aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony under Texas law that carries a possible sentence of five to 99 years or life in prison, according to Texas Penal Code §29.03. The charge remains an allegation, and Randolph is presumed innocent unless and until he is proven guilty in court.
Case status
The investigation remains active as deputies continue combing through evidence and working to identify additional suspects, according to WOAI. Authorities have not released further details on potential additional arrests or a timeline for the case.
