A 17-year-old was injured in a shooting today in Charlotte's Cherry neighborhood after gunfire broke out along Baxter Street, police said. Officers responded to the block just off Queens Road, and medics took the teen to a hospital while detectives sealed off the street to collect evidence.
According to WCNC, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said the shooting happened on Baxter Street and that there were no immediate arrests. The station reported that investigators were canvassing the area for witnesses and evidence.
