What was supposed to be a quiet night at a cluster of Westport hotels turned into a headache for dozens of drivers, after thieves allegedly smashed windows and tore through at least 38 parked cars overnight on Monday, June 29. Maryland Heights police say three suspects are now in custody following an investigation that stretched into neighboring jurisdictions.
According to a press release from the Maryland Heights Police Department, detectives served a search warrant at a property in Jennings and recovered evidence tied to the Westport hotel break-ins. The department also shared the release on its Facebook page on June 30, 2026, with the post linking back to the same document.
As reported by KMOV / First Alert 4, the suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Lexhaon Tublin, 19-year-old Zymarie Atkins, and an unnamed 17-year-old male. KMOV notes that Tublin and Atkins face charges including stealing a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property and first-degree property damage, while the juvenile is accused of offenses that include stealing a firearm and second-degree burglary.
The Maryland Heights press release states that detectives have linked the trio to multiple high-speed pursuits and other incidents around the St. Louis metro area. The investigation is still active, and authorities say they expect more charges as they continue processing evidence and forensic results from the items seized.
Charges and What Comes Next
KMOV reports that Tublin is being held on a $50,000 bond and Atkins on a $75,000 bond, and that Atkins also had an outstanding $100,000 warrant related to an alleged vehicle theft two weeks earlier. Prosecutors have not yet announced formal filings. In the meantime, the department is asking anyone with surveillance footage or tips to contact detectives directly or share information through the agency’s Facebook post.
