Torchy’s Tacos is set to open next Wednesday at 23Springs in Uptown Dallas, bringing an upgraded spin on the Austin-born chain to one of the city's priciest corners. The single-story location will feature a patio, a full bar and a polished interior clearly tailored to the Uptown crowd. Management is lining up opening-day spectacle, including a ribbon-cutting, live music, photo activations and giveaways.
According to CultureMap Dallas, doors will open at 8 a.m., with a 10 a.m. ribbon-cutting on the schedule for the grand opening. The outlet reports that, in keeping with Torchy’s usual opening-day tradition, the first 100 people in line will have a chance to win free Green Chile Queso for a year. Onsite festivities will include giveaways, a DJ, a photobooth and an appearance by the Torchy’s mascot. CultureMap also notes that the restaurant will occupy a one-story building at the corner of Cedar Springs and Maple, with a patio that faces the development’s park.
Upscale prototype built for Uptown
Developer Granite Properties is billing the new Torchy’s as an "upscale, flagship location" that will span 2,533 square feet next to Little Ruby’s Café, complete with premium finishes and a park-facing patio. Granite's announcement says the buildout includes a reimagined kitchen and layout designed for speed and a more elevated hospitality feel, along with a full bar calibrated for the Uptown market. “We’re excited to welcome Torchy’s to 23Springs and thrilled to offer our customers and Uptown neighbors a popular Tex-Mex favorite for breakfast, lunch and dinner,” Granite’s Paul Bennett said in the release.
Menu and hours
The Uptown outpost will stick with Torchy’s greatest hits. Company listings show a menu that includes signature tacos such as Trailer Park Trashy, Crossroads, Chicken Fajita and Baja Shrimp, along with breakfast tacos, a rotating Taco of the Month, Green Chile Queso and margaritas. Torchy’s standard menu structure and pricing are expected to carry over to the flagship, so regulars should find their usual favorites waiting. What this means for Uptown
23Springs positions the new Torchy’s inside a compact, walkable mix of office floors, restaurants and a half-acre street park in the heart of Uptown, targeting both daytime office traffic and evening diners. The development highlights its 26-story office tower and street-level dining as part of a broader effort to create a social hub, which makes the site a logical testing ground for a more polished Torchy’s prototype. Marketing materials for the project spotlight amenities and pedestrian-friendly design intended to keep the park and surrounding streetscape busy.
In a press release via Granite Properties, Torchy’s CEO Paul Macaluso said the Uptown restaurant "brings our Damn Good tacos and bold flavor right into the heart of Uptown Dallas," and framed the shop as a model for future urban locations. With doors opening next week, expect long lines as office workers, nearby residents and taco fans size up the new, more polished Torchy’s prototype.
