Austin police are asking for the public’s help tracking down three people who, officers say, tackled a store clerk and left him with significant injuries during a late‑night robbery at a Central Austin 7‑Eleven.

The May 31 robbery happened at the 7‑Eleven at 411 W. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. Just before 3 a.m., three suspects walked in, grabbed alcohol and tried to walk out without paying, according to Austin police. When the clerk stepped in, officers say he was “violently tackled.” No arrests have been announced.

APD Releases Photos And Suspect Descriptions

In a June 29 news release, the Austin Police Department identified the incident as Case 26‑1510278 and said it was reported around 2:50 a.m. on May 31.

Detectives listed three suspects:

Suspect No. 1 is described as a white male, medium build, about 18 to 25 years old, last seen wearing a black T‑shirt with the word “Gutwrench,” a chain necklace and a wallet chain.

Suspect No. 2 is described as a Hispanic male, husky build, about 18 to 25 years old, with a tattoo on his right forearm.

Suspect No. 3 is described as a white or Hispanic male, thin build, about 18 to 25 years old.

Police say a reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information that leads to an arrest.

Local Outlets Publish The Stills

Local station KEYE/CBS Austin published the surveillance stills and a summary of APD’s appeal, including the department’s description of the attack and the potential reward. The coverage repeats the key timeline and images released by detectives to help the public spot the suspects.

How To Submit Tips

Anyone with information is asked to call APD’s Robbery Unit at 512‑974‑5092. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers program at Capital Area Crime Stoppers or by calling 512‑472‑8477. Tipsters whose information leads to an arrest may be eligible for the reward noted by police.

A String Of Late‑Night Appeals

This is not the only late‑night case where detectives are turning to the community. On June 25, APD shared a separate appeal about an early‑morning robbery outside Mala Fama, again asking for any video or eyewitness leads that might help move the investigation forward.

For now, investigators say community tips remain their best shot at putting names to faces in the MLK 7‑Eleven case.
